She was so gracious and curious about my daughter's health condition. What a wonderful human being. Her Blue Blowfish was so glimmery and it shimmered as you walked in the room. I didn't find it in your many works that are on the internet. Could you please tell me what piece of work she is most famous for? I will always remember her and my daughter for what they appeared to have in common----Their love of the beauty of life. I still have the picture she signed and gave to my daughter. | Comments: | I met Beatrice Wood in 1970 at her studio when I was on a tour to keep the wives entertained while the men were at a meeting. What an interesting character she was and I was quite taken with her many styles of art pottery, but really loved her glazes. I am now doing a small research project on lusterware and am looking for examples of her work which might be on the internet, because after all these years, I have never found anything to match her fabulous lusterware glazes. While your site did not have examples, I did enjoy reading her history. |
